The Truck Plus will add 75+ hp over the stock cam in a typical 5.3L application. More power from 2650 rpm up making it a great choice for those wanting more torque and horsepower. The 585-lift Truck Plus cam requires .600-lift springs, which are included in this kit. The Truck Plus cam can be used with a stock converter but will perform best with a higher than stock stall converter. This cam has been extensively dyno tested and has been run successfully NA, with every type of blower (centrifugal, roots and twin screw) and with a Turbo(s). This cam works very well under boost and requires a tune for maximum performance.

Recommended spring for our Truck Plus cam is the new RHP Beehive valve springs. This is a great option for camshafts using less than .600 valve lift. This valve spring is designed to use the factory retainers and locks.

Richard Dyno tests don't lie this cam is a good middle ground. down low it still has that low end torque, but all the way to 6200 it screams. I'm running it on my 86 C10 with a LM7, 2600 stall converter with 3.73 gears and it's great. You can hear some chop but its still very drivable with a lot more power on the top. Typically past 5000 stock truck motors feel dead, but with the cam the power band is phenomenal. I Highly recommend this cam for street cars that are gonna see some traffic and daily use, you will not loose any real low end but gain a lot at the top end.
The truck plus cam gives great torque/power.
